Toilet Birthdays

Friends let me stay with them when I had to be in D.C. for a film festival and how do I repay them? I post a photo of their toilet on the internet.

One of the houses I babysit at.

The toilet I found in the mens room at a bar on the West Side called McCoy's. It's a nice little pub where I watched the Cavaliers get their asses handed to them by the Magic. I was also surprised to see how many families found their way to such a dank (?) pub.

The other (less clean) toilet at the Skyline Hotel. I photographed this just after I met Mark Victor Hansen. He was less excited about my "Chicken Soup For The Toilet's Soul" idea.

I was at the Skyline Hotel in Manhattan for an event related to the Book Expo. I was shocked to see that the toilet in a hotel had a tank. This is one of two toilets (the one on the left) found in the mens room on the main floor.

I found this toilet during a Confirmation party in Queens, NY. I was amused that I got to use the toilet (and snap its picture) without ever actually seeing the kid who had just been confirmed. Perhaps when I exhaust the supply of NYC bar toilets I'll move to family gatherings.

The toilet in the mens room at the Heidelberg Restaurant on the UES. It's a terrificly authentic German place which features beer served in footwear. Also, for some strange reason, the toilet stall was adorned with some of the same graffiti I saw in the stall at Rolf's.

The toilet in the mens room at the Gramercy-area bar Crocodile Lounge. I remember very little of my experience at this bar, as it came just after my visit to Heidelberg and just before stumbling across the street to what I seem to remember is a drag place. Also, as a sidenote, a few years (?) ago, I won the Crocodile Lounge trivia night as part of Sad Astronaut.

The toilet at HackLab.to was installed in a fairly recent renovation. It wouldn't be an interesting toilet at all were in not for which washroom it's installed in. The bathtub contains a laser engraver (we didn't have anywhere else to put it) and the toilet itself posts to Twitter when you flush it.
